I have been doing a bit of running lately as my clinical rotations permit and developed some knee pain. Did some searching around and asked a few of my teachers and its obviously patellofemoral pain syndrome. The interesting thing is that there is a lot of debate about if foot pronation is the problem or if it comes from above due to the action of the hip. There does not appear to be any consensus on this which. I have ended up using my foot orthotics when I run and also looking at the kinds of exercises I can do to improve the function there. I not sure it is working! I think I need a running coach to look over my running technique and get some advice there.
